Master Gardener of the 1st Quarter 2015
Brenda Perryman
President, Evalyn Cabell, in an effort to recognize the efforts of our hard working Master Gardeners, has implemented the ‘Master Gardener of the Quarter’.
Each member of the organization submits their candidate by secret ballot. The votes are then counted and the results announced. Deciding on a candidate is hard with all of the possible choices in our group.
Brenda Perryman was chosen as our very first Master Gardener of the Quarter!
Brenda was asked these three questions:
1. Why did you become a Master Gardener?
2. What is your favorite thing about being a Master Gardener?
3. What do you think is the most important thing you have learned as a Master Gardener?
Here is her reply:
“My reason for taking the MG class was to learn about plants, landscaping, gardening, etc…everything needed to enhance the outdoors of our old house. I have learned much, though I still don't know the names of most plants and bugs (sorry Marjorie). I really didn’t know what I was getting into, but what a giving group PHLMG is. They will leave their own projects and gardening to pull weeds, plant, or whatever is needed. They share advice, plants, and best of all, friendship!!”
We are very fortunate to have a Master Gardener such as Brenda. One who is willing to give of her time, energy and knowledge whenever it is needed.
When you see her next, please give her a heartfelt thank you!
And, be thinking of who you would like to nominate for our next ‘Master Gardener of the Quarter’.
